We will be visiting Disneyland next month. My Nephew is 2 1/2 but looks big for his age. Does Disneyland ask for proof if a child is under 3 to not have to purchase a ticket? If so, does it have to be an official birth certificate?

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Stephanie.

Children under 3 years of age do not require an admission ticket. It’s not necessary to bring proof of age, as Disney goes by honor system. If you do decide to bring documentation, I’d suggest just a copy of his birth certificate. Again, it’s not required to show proof that your nephew is under 3 years of age.

I hope this information helps. I wish you and your family an unforgettable trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, Stephanie. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions.

    Have a magical day,

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
