Visiting Disneyland May 26-31. Staying across the street from the park and won't have a car. Are there any grocery stores within walking distance to stock up on snacks/breakfast? Best character dining for 11yo and 21mo girls? Any other tips for those ages?

    Hi, Tara!

Stocking up on snacks and water is a great idea, and it’s something I do for every trip, too. I believe the nearest full grocery store is Food 4 Less, which is about one mile from the Disneyland Resort on Katella Avenue. Vons offers grocery delivery service, which you can arrange online in advance. Visit http://grocery-delivery.vons.com/ca/anaheim.html to create an account and place your order. In addition, you can also purchase select grocery items from White Water Snacks at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa if you need any last-minute essentials.

I love the whimsical undersea atmosphere and character interactions during “Ariel’s Disney Princess Celebration” at Ariel’s Grotto at Disney California Adventure Park, and I think you and your daughters would too! It’s a great way to meet a handful of beloved Disney princesses. My favorite part of the meal is the dessert platter, which is almost too pretty to eat!

Another of my family’s favorites is “Mickey and the Magical Map,” a show in Disneyland Park that combines innovative technology with favorite Disney characters and songs. In addition to our old pal Mickey Mouse, the show currently features friends like Sebastian, Stitch, Disney princesses, and more familiar faces.

The Baby Care Centers are a great resource for families with babies and toddlers, and there’s one located in each theme park. In addition to providing a convenient place to feed and change your child, they are fully staffed and offer a variety of amenities that make life much easier. There are full-size changing tables, high chairs, a kitchen and a shop with baby food, formula, bottles, pacifiers, diapers, wipes, medicines and other essentials for purchase.

I hope this helps, Tara. Please write back with any other questions you have as your pixie-dusted planning continues!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
