We will be visiting Disney with our 6 and 8 year old grandsons, traveling on a low budget. Aside from the parks, which we know well, what other activity/entertainment would you recommend? Is Disney Quest appropriate for this age group? Thanks.

Hi, Marie!    How fun bringing your grandsons to WDW!    Let me start with Disney Quest.   I just took my 6 year old son there last week.   He did enjoy himself, but he was a bit young for many of the games and activities.   If you have it on your park ticket (the Water Park Fun and More option) then I would give it a try.  If you will need to buy tickets, I would pass on it.

There are several fun things you can do as a family without spending a lot of money.  Let's face it, who isn't on a budget these days!  Here are some activities my family enjoys:

-Chip and Dale Campfire and Sing-a-Long at Fort Wilderness
-Get ice cream at Beaches and Cream and stroll the Boardwalk.  Time it right to see fireworks from Epcot!
-Take a monorail ride to the Polynesian.   Let the boys play in the sand on the beach while watching Wishes fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and the Electric Water Pageant on the lagoon (check for times of fireworks and water pageant.)
-Go to Downtown Disney.  My kids could play for hours at the Lego store!  There is even a McDonald's right next door!
-Catch and Release fishing at Port Orleans Riverside (small fee for bait and pole rental)
-Check your own resort for activities.   During our last stay at Disney, my kids really enjoyed the pool side entertainment:  hula hoop contest, dance party, chalk drawing, games, musical chairs, nighttime pool side movies, and marshmallow roasting.

I hope you find plenty of budget-friendly activities for your very lucky grandsons!   Have a magical vacation!
