We are visiting Disney World for the 1st time 6/1-6/6 with our 6yr old.Any suggestions on what to pack daily in my backpack while visiting the parks? What if we wanted to visit Seaworld. Are there buses to take us there or do we have to rent a car? Thanks!

Hi Kathleen.  I am known for over packing my park bag, but can be trusted to pull about just about anything in a pinch.  Here are a few things I always carry when my boys (ages 4 and 6) and I are in the parks:
    • Small first aid kit (with bandages and an antibiotic ointment)
    • Rain ponchos (I get them at a local dollar store to save in the parks)
    • Snacks for the kids (dry food and frozen juice boxes or water bottles)
    • Change of clothes (in case a kid goes for a run through some dancing fountains)
    • Sunglasses and hats for both kids, hubby and self
    • Sunscreen
    • Needed medication (plus child's fever reducer, just in case)
    • Tiny activity books and crayons in case of a long ride wait or while eating
    • Wallet, park tickets, ID, etc.
    • Identification for each child (I usually bring address labels printed with our cell phone number that I stick on each kid's back.)
    • Camera and camcorder
    • Zip-top bags to carry any wet clothing
    • Portable fans to clip on strollers
    • Baby wipes

Sea World is not part of Walt Disney World, so there is no WDW transportation from its resorts there.  However, you can ask the front desk at your resort for help with securing a taxi from your resort if you prefer not to rent a car.

    Have a great first trip!
