We are visiting Disney World May 20-25 w/ 10 & 12 year old boys and staying at the Beach Club. We're looking for dining & itinerary suggestions. We know it will be crowded b/c it is Memorial Day so planning each day is important.

    Dear J:

Memorial Day Weekend isn't as busy as you'd think. Schools, especially in the North, are still in session. I was there for the weekend a few years ago and found the crowds very manageable.

Tues, May 20: Epcot. Takes two days to cover, especially with boys who can enjoy Innoventions. The fireworks make a great way to kick off your vacation! FP = Test Track, Mission: SPACE, and Spaceship Earth. Dine at Biergarten.

Wed, May 21: Magic Kingdom. Because crowd-levels increase the closer to the weekend, I recommend visiting MK in the middle of the week. Get FastPass+ for Space Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, and Splash Mountain. Head to Ohana for dinner at the Polynesian and return for the parade.

Thurs, May 22: Epcot. Because it's a favorite park of locals on holiday weekends, I recommend visiting it, like MK, in the middle of the week. Get FastPass+ for Soarin' (because you got Test Track on Tues), Turtle Talk and Spaceship Earth. Enjoy Coral Reef for dinner.

Fri, May 23: Disney's Hollywood Studios. Star Wars Weekends will be going on during your visit (YEA!!, especially with boys the ages of yours.) Friday will be the least busy. Get FastPass+ for Toy Story Midway Mania, Tower of Terror, and Star Tours. Make dining reservations at Sci-Fi.

Sat, May 24: Animal Kingdom. When crowds are large, I recommend visiting the larger parks like Animal Kingdom and Epcot, where crowds can be dispersed. Get FastPass+ for Kilamanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest and Dinosaur or Kali River Rapids. Grab at bite at Pizzafari or Rainforest Café.

Sun, May 25: Magic Kingdom. End your day with a few rides on your favorites. FastPass+ the ones you rode earlier in the week but if you find that there is something you missed, you've still got time to change them.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
