I am visiting Disney World with my husband & 2-year daughter. We want to visit some Character Dinings, but only 2 seats are available in some restaurants. Can we book 2 seats and have my daughter sit on my knees, or should we compulsorily book 3 seats?

    Hi Toshie,

Character dinings are very popular at the Walt Disney World Resorts. It is a great way to see your favorite characters and have a fun meal.

You will need to book your reservation for three. This is for your safety in the event of an emergency. However, if your daughter wants to sit on your lap to have your picture taken with a character, go right ahead.

To find an opening, try asking for a time range - 10 am to 11 am - for breakfast. Also, ask for an Advance Dining Reservation for for 10:10 which might free up a spot. Look for a time that is for the last sitting of one meal or the first sitting of that meal. The transition time between meals may not be as busy.

You can also keep trying as guests always switch reservations.

    Have a magical vacation!
