We will be visiting Disney World April 2012 for Easter week with our son who will be 23 months. My husband and I are frequent visitors to Disney just not with the baby yet. DO you have any idea as to restaurants, rides, attractions, ect.?

    Hi Kim:

I'm a parent of two boys, ages 5 and 4, who have been traveling to Walt Disney World since they were infants. Check out Disney's in-depth planning page for traveling with little ones for information and tips on appropriate rides and attractions. Also, some attractions have height restrictions. To that end, consider taking advantage of Rider Swap on select attractions. Rider Swap allows guests with youngsters too small or hesitant to ride a certain attraction to take turns riding the ride. The guest waiting with the child can then "swap" with the other adults in their party to ride the attraction without waiting on line again.

In terms of dining, I would think about a character meal, such as at Chef Mickeys.  But since your son is so young, I would concentrate on restaurants where you want to eat (check out this sortable list of Disney World Restaurants that can be filtered by category).  The great news is that just about all Disney restaurants, except for the exclusive Victoria and Alberts, are family and kid friendly and are well prepared to serve young children. Kids under three can eat free from off an adult's plate at sit down restaurants and buffets, including character meals. If you want to order your child a separate meal, you will have to pay the cost of that meal at menu price. Most restaurants have specific children's menus, generally serving traditional children's fare such as chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, pasta, and hamburgers. Some restaurants are buffets or are dinner shows and do not have a specific childrens menu.
