Hi! We are visiting Disney Workd next week and looking forward to experiencing Rise of the Resistance. If the ride experiences problems and doesn’t open until later (like today I see), do we get a voucher to ride it another day if our b group isn’t called?

Bright suns, Andrew! I can assure you that the weather is much nicer on planet Batuu than it is here in Pennsylvania! I'd be happy to provide some advice to make your upcoming journey more magical.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance puts you into the middle of an epic battle between the heroic Resistance and the dark side First Order. It is the most highly anticipated ride in Walt Disney World Resort history; luckily, instead of having to wait in a traditional Standby queue, Disney has instituted a virtual queue system. At official park opening, guests can obtain a Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group from the My Disney Experience app. As stated on the Walt Disney World website, joining a Boarding Group does not guarantee access to the attraction, and guests will receive a push notification if their boarding group is called. Currently, Disney's Hollywood Studios is opening at 7:00 AM, and even though the virtual queue cannot be accessed until the official opening time, they have been letting guests into the park as early as 6:30 AM. The best way to ensure your party is in a low Boarding Group is to arrive bright and early, at least an hour ahead of time.

The Imagineers worked diligently to make this a cutting-edge attraction; however, advanced technology can sometimes come with "technical difficulties." I have heard stories of guests receiving complimentary snacks during the delays in the queue and/or a Multiple Experience Fastpass for the following day. Compensation is an exception rather than a rule, though, and is not guaranteed.

May the Force be with you on your trip, Andrew!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
