We will be visiting Disney for the 1st time this Sept. staying for 6 days at the Polynesian or Beach Club, kids are 13,11 & 5. We will be getting a 5 day ticket w/o park hopper option, can we visit Epcot on day 1 and the go back on day 3?

You can utilize your 5 day park hopper to visit any of the four theme parks (Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios). If you wanted to tour the same park for 5 days, that would be fine. Or if you tour Epcot on day 1 and then return on day 3, that plan would work well too. Just remember that you'll be using 1 ticket per day. So touring Epcot on day 1 and day 3, will take 2 days off of your 5 day ticket.

Without the park hopper option, you must stick to touring one park per day. Therefore if on day 3 you were done touring Epcot by 3  p.m. for example, you would be unable to go to a different park that evening.

Plan accordingly and you'll be fine touring without the park hopper option on your tickets.
