We are visiting Disney with our three children 3-8. We didn't realize our trip is during the food and wine festival. Should we be avoiding Epcot during the evenings with the kids? Will it be difficult to see the world showcase during the festival?

Hi, Monica! These are excellent questions that have been posed to me many times. We have attended the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival several times as a family. In fact, we purposely scheduled a trip this fall to coincide it. True, much of this event is geared towards adults, but #DisneyKids are included in the fun, with many foods and drinks created with them in mind. This year, they will be able to experience the new "Remy's Ratatouille Hide & Squeak." This World Showcase adventure will take kids of all ages on a scavenger hunt for little Remy statuettes, with special maps, stickers and even prizes.

I have adventurous eaters in my house, but they were not always this way. Our daughters have discovered a love of many foods that they first tried at the festival, such as sushi, mussels and even Scottish haggis with neeps and tatties. Some of the Global Marketplaces do offer nonalcoholic drinks. How does a Frozen S’mores featuring Monin® Toasted Marshmallow Syrup sound? Take a look at this link with your family to discover a few new tastes to try.

Epcot can be quite crowded during the weekends due to local residents attending the festival. In our experience, we have had great success when we sampled our favorite festival offerings on a weekday. On our Epcot days, we try to visit Future World attractions in the morning and then move into World Showcase right as it opens at 11 o'clock. World Showcase sometimes gets a little busy after 5 o'clock during the week, so we usually move back into Future World with some key FastPass+ selections planned. In the past, this gave us plenty of time to find the thrills we love, catch some of our favorite cultural exhibits, and seek new tastes for my budding "foodies."

I hope this helps you plan a magical day at Epcot, Monica. Please stop by again if you have any further questions.
