We are visiting Disney from January 2nd to 12th 2016. What will the crowds usually be like?

    Hello Kathleen!
With the dates you are traveling I predict you will experience very high crowds and very low crowds. However, the vast majority of your trip will be pretty great in regards to crowds.  Typically, the crowds at the Walt Disney World Resort follow school calendars... when most U.S. schools are in session, the crowds are low and when most schools are out crowds grow.  I also predict you will see an increase in fellow Mousketeers during the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend which is January 6 - 10 in 2016.

No matter what time of the year your travel, you will do well to have a plan. If crowds are your number one concern, hit the parks early (before they open) an plan your FastPass+ selections later in the day. There are some pretty good crowd calendars that predict upcoming crowds. My favorites can be found at easywdw.com and touringplans.com.

    Have a great time!

Meet the Panelist: Anne, Iowa

I’m Anne, a native Iowan, wife, mother, and grandmother. For me, a major part of the fun of a Disney trip is the planning. I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother. While I can’t pick my funniest Disney memory – either my 70-year-old mother on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror or my 4-year-old grandson on Dinosaur – I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures.
