    Ravinder from ON Asked

Hello, we are visiting Disney for the first time and staying at the Grand Floridian. We have 3 children aged 5,7&9. Do you have any tips about must do's, fast ride passes, dining plans or what to do if a fast pass ride we want is fully booked?

    Hi Ravinder,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to plan your first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort!

I suggest starting with Magic Kingdom, then Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Here are our must do experiences at each park:

    • Magic Kingdom - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Swiss Family Treehouse
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios - Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, Toy Story Mania!, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom - Kali River Rapids, Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na'vi River Journey, Avatar Flight of Passage
    • Epcot - Soarin' Around the World, Mission: SPACE, Frozen Ever After
Be sure to check the height requirements! When we took our girls at 5-years old, one of them was just barely 40 inches tall. Also, be sure to familiarize yourself with the Fast Pass+ tiers at each park that has tiers. Check out this great answer from one of my fellow Moms Panelists about Fast Pass+ tiers.

As you consider a dining plan, remember that meal entitlements are calculated per night of stay. So, if you are staying for six nights on the Disney Dining Plan, each person in your party 3-years old and over would receive 12 meals in total - six quick-service and six table-service. My family loves the Disney Dining Plan and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan.

Ravinder, if you find that a Fast Pass+ is not available, I suggest that you continue to check. In my experience, Fast Pass+ can become available after your initial booking window opens!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
