We are visiting Disney for the first time with our children, we are a family of 8 I'm really overwhelmed with plans & want to make sure we get the most out of our trip for everyone. Our kids ages range 16-6 How do I make a daily plan without going cra

    Hi Wendy!

This is a great question.  Since it is your first time visiting, I highly recommend picking up a good tour book.  I think "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal and "PassPorter Walt Disney World" by Jennifer and Dave Marx are perfect for first time visitors as they are both full of information and tips but are not overwhelming.  "The Complete Walt Disney World" is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  Both will give you a good idea of everything there is to do in Walt Disney World.

To help you plan which park you might want to visit on which day, I recommend visiting the independent website TouringPlans.com.  That's the website for the research team behind the tour book "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World".  They are famous in the Disney fan community for producing a crowd calendar that predicts the crowd levels in the various parks on various days.  That information can help you formulate your plans.  The only other thing I would add is guests can easily spend 2 whole days in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, while Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom typically only require a day.

Once you know about where you will be on which day, the next step is to make some Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) for any Table Service (full service) restaurants you want to experience.  ADRs are critical and can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-DINE or making them online.  To see the menu, including prices, for the various restaurants in Walt Disney World, I recommend visiting the independent website AllEars.Net.  The team at All Ears does a great job keeping their information current.

I hope this helps to get you started!  Please write back with more questions!
