Hi! Visiting Disney in Feb 2012...This will be my 5yr old's first time & we want it to be an amazing experience for her. We are staying at coronado springs with the dining plus package. Was wondering how many character meals to plan for? What is too m

    Hi Lauren,

Your daughter's first trip to Walt Disney World will be here before you know it!  You must be so excited!  I took my son for his first Disney trip when he was five.  I think it is the perfect age to go meet Mickey.

Speaking of meeting Mickey, I think two character meals is a good number to schedule if your family plans to be at Walt Disney World for a week.  I would call (407) WDW-DINE right away to make your advance dining reservations for February 2012.  If I were you, I'd book one meal at Chef Mickey's on the Grand Concourse of Disney's Contemporary Resort.  There, your family will get to interact with "the big cheese" himself and several of his friends.  Meanwhile you'll dine on an extensive buffet and watch the iconic monorails glide overhead.  It's the quintessential Disney character dining experience.

If your daughter loves princesses, I would schedule your second character meal at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion of Epcot.  It's a magical place to meet Disney's royal ladies.

Although it is advisable to plan much of your vacation in advance, don't forget to keep some flexibility in your schedule too.  It's important to take time to rest and take advantage of unexpected opportunities as they arise.

Wishing you many incredible memories during your upcoming trip!
