We are visiting Disney in Dec 2011. I have a discount (40%) and am thinking of upgrading to a deluxe resort. Which is better for kids (4,5, & 6 years) AKL or WL? We will need 2 rooms. Which has the best Transportation? Would we be better off at P

    Hi Sarah,

I love both Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge. Animal Kingdom Lodge has animals outside your bedroom if you have a savanna view. Eating your breakfast with an African animal is cool! It also features a great pool which looks like a river right to the mud brown color.

Wilderness Lodge makes you feel like you are in the Pacific Northwest. Its main pool's water starts inside the lobby and flows all the way out to a geyser! The lobby is amazing, and it is home to my favorite restaurant-Whispering Canyon Cafe.

For transportation, Wilderness is easier only because if you are touring the Magic Kingdom, you can take a boat versus a bus to this park. Any other park from the Wilderness Lodge requires riding a bus. Animal Kingdom only has bus transportation.

Your question did cut off but it looks like you were going to ask about the Polynesian. This resort is wonderful as well and it has monorail service to both the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT which is a treat with strollers-no folding while riding!

Also, look at this link for resorts which can accommodate five guests. You can look at the villas which would give you a kitchen area as well as you all sleeping in one unit. If you are looking for great transportation, check out Boardwalk, Beach Club and Bay Lake Towers.

    Have a magical vacation!
