Hi, we are visiting in August. Do we book our fast pass first thing in the morning to get more when we have finished all three? Or do we save FP until late morning/mid afternoon? Help very much appreciated. Thank you

    Hello, Mark!

There are several factors to consider when planning a solid FastPass+ strategy. I'm happy to share my opinion with you - as well as the reasoning behind my approach - to help you get started.

My family and I tend to save our FastPass+ entitlements for late morning and early afternoon, though this is not always the case. We like to arrive early to the theme parks and experience as many of our favorite attractions as we can before lunch time. Many guests do show up to the parks early in the morning, but the crowd level seems to continually grow as more people enter the parks. If we plan to take a mid-day break at our Disney Resort hotel, we schedule our FastPass+ entitlements for the first part of our day, and then make an additional FastPass+ selection at an in-park kiosk for later in the day before we leave (if we plan to return to that same theme park later).

There are a few other things to consider before making FastPass+ selections:
    • A fourth FastPass+ selection is not guaranteed, and is based on availability. Many of the more popular attractions and experiences may not be available later in the day.
    • Some attractions can see long lines within the first hour of the park being open (Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the Anna and Elsa character greeting are two examples).
Because of these two factors, I would like to encourage you to base your FastPass+ selections on the individual attractions, and not solely on the possibility of securing a fourth FastPass+ later in the day. It sounds like you have a good general touring plan in place, and I think you will have the best luck with planning FastPass+ attractions during the late morning and mid-afternoon hours, as you mentioned in your question.

I hope you have a magical Walt Disney World vacation, Mark! If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel, Mark. We'd love to hEAR from you! Happy planning!
