I will be visiting Animal Kingdom soon with my 7 yr. old daughter and husband. We have never been and would love tips on the best things to do while there. Thank you!

    Hi, Suzie!

I'll give you four must-dos while you are at Animal Kingdom -- and one "where to eat" :)

1 - Expedition Everest. A phenomenal roller coaster that immerses its riders in the narrative of the Himalayan Yeti. Your "runaway train" will take you on an incredibly smooth, non-jarring jarring up and inside the very mountain where the Yeti makes its lair! The height requirement  on EE is 44", so you might want give your child a quick measure before you make your plans. Do remember that you can take advantage of the Single Rider line if only one of you wishes to ride, and/or the Parent Swap option (all of you stand in line, one grownup rides while the other grownup waits with the little one, and you switch off immediately after Rider One is finished). Fast Pass that one immediately!
2 - Finding Nemo: The Musical. Try to see the first presentation of this beautiful, Broadway-quality show featuring puppets and humans, unbelievable effects, and a familiar cast of characters. But bring your tissues: it's all about growing up and finding your way in "the big blue world".
3 - Festival of the Lion KIng - Particularly exciting as we await the anniversary release of the DVD! Again, gorgeous costumes, gymnastics, fabulous music, and all of your favorites from the Pridelands.
4 - Rafiki's Planet Watch - This interactive experience will allow the whole family to learn more about what Jiminy Cricket calls "environmentality". See all kinds of animals, watch research scientists explore advances in environmental studies, and pet some fuzzy friends outside.
5 - Call (407) WDW-DINE in advance, and make a reservation at Tusker House. This African/Indian-inspired buffet features cuisine from several countries (including America ;) . At breakfast and lunch, you'll be able to meet Donald Duck and some of his friends!

Have a wonderful trip - enjoy and learn!

    See you later, celebrator!
