Hello we'll be vacationing in Disney during my son's 8th birthday this year (April). Wondering if there is a special extra activity we can do with him while there in lieu of a traditional birthday party? He loves Star Wars and Legos. Thank you!

What an out of this world way to spend your son's 8-year old birthday, my son is a huge Star Wars and LEGO fan as well so he helped with this collaboration.

My son and I definitely think you should consider having your son help plan his special day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Let him read up on some of the attractions and restaurants he maybe interested in, if you are using the Magic Band go ahead and reserve some of his rides with FastPass+.

Upon arrival, and I recommend arriving early, head straight to the ABC Sound Studio to sign your Padawan up for the Jedi Training Academy. Depending on your show time take this opportunity and head to Guest Services, let them know of his special day so he can receive his, "It's My Birthday Button." He will receive special wishes from Cast Members and characters throughout his visit. Afterwards, plan on taking him on some of his favorite rides that you have hopefully reserved through FastPass+, Star Tours-The Adventure Continues is a MUST! Upon completion of his Padawan to Jedi training, treat him to a special birthday present at the Tatooine Traders, they have a nice collection of LEGO Star Wars plus much more.
Consider finishing out the day by making an Advance Dining Reservation for the Fantasmic! Dinner Package. Your son can choose from a great selection of restaurants that both you and he will enjoy and let your server know he is celebrating a birthday, he may receive a special treat.  His night will finish out in a special viewing area for Fantasmic.  Here he will watch good vs. evil play out in front of him through the grand spectacle of pyrotechnics and magical display of laser imaging on a backdrop of mist and beautifully composed music that will keep him captivated until the end.
I hope his day is magical and memorable in every way and let me know if i can be of further assistance.
