When using Magical Express, if the airline loses your luggage, will Disney assist with contacting the airline and tracking it down?

Hello Anne and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

It might be helpful for you to know a bit about how Disney's Magical Express luggage service works. If you are utilizing the luggage service, you will attach special tags to your bags. The airlines, of course, have their own luggage tag from which they handle your bags.  The Disney tags don't actually come into play until the bags arrive at Orlando International Airport. Once your bags reach Orlando they enter into the Disney luggage system and from that moment, any and all issues would be handled through Disney. In the history of Disney's Magical Express, I have never heard of any ongoing problems with luggage.  However, before your bags arrive in Orlando, the issue would need to be handled through the airlines.  Due to the lag in time between your arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort and your bags arrival, it could be sometime before you knew there was an issue with a missing bag.

Since I always like to have my bags with me and am impatient about waiting for them at the Resort, we pick up our own luggage at the baggage claim area and take them on Disney's Magical Express. That way I am aware if there is an issue and also have my bags when I check in.

I hope this helps with your planning. If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

    See ya real soon,
