    Seth from NY Asked

When using my magic band for purchases, when is my credit card actually charged?

Hi Seth and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for bringing us your question about using your MagicBand for purchases at the Walt Disney World Resort!

One of my husband’s favorite benefits of being a Disney Resort hotel guest is the convenience of being able to make purchases with just a touch of his MagicBand.

Did you know that your MagicBand can even serve as your room key when you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel?

When you make a purchase with your band anywhere at the Walt Disney World Resort you press your band to a pad where it is scanned and you enter a pin number that you choose beforehand. Those purchases are charged to your Disney Resort hotel room and the card you left on file to pay for your room is charged at the very end of your stay when you check out. It’s as simple as that!

Remember those are just a few of the benefits of being a Disney Resort hotel guest! One of my favorites is Extra Magic Hours. That’s when one of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks opens early or closes late to the general public and only guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel are allowed to stay to enjoy the extra time.

Seth, I hope you have a magical visit! Feel free to come back to see us if you have any more questions!
