Using the Disney dining plan (2 adults, 2 kids), do you recommend the Fantasmic dining package to be able to get VIP seats to the show (which uses 2 table credits, or so I heard) or to use a Fast pass instead or just wait in line?

    Hi Sherrie,

Thank you so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Fantasmic! is a wonderful show. I so enjoy the mixed types of entertainment, from characters to animation projected on water screens.

I spoke with a wonderful cast member at Disney Dining today, who confirmed for me that to book the Fantasmic! Dining Package, you would use one table service credit for dining at Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano or Hollywood & Vine, and you would use two table service credits for dining at The Hollywood Brown Derby. You do then have access to the VIP seats for Fantasmic!, but it is open seating within the VIP section, so you should plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to showtime to secure the seat you want.

Since the number of table service credits you will be using for your meal with the Fantasmic! Dining Package are the same as the number of table service credits you would use for a meal at these restaurants, I recommend that you go ahead and book the Fantasmic! Dining Package. My personal favorite of these three restaurants is Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano. I love the casual atmosphere and I enjoy the homey Italian fare.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Sherrie! Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
