Preschooler on Carousel

    Donna from MA Asked

for our upcoming trip in November. We are traveling with 5 adults, a 5 yo & a 2 yo. For rides that have the rider switch option, as well as the fast pass+, I have read that you don't all need to get a fast pass due to the rider switch?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Donna! Combining FastPass+ and Rider Switch Service is something my family does every time we visit Walt Disney World Resort. With my little girl not quite measuring up to many attraction height minimums, we want to make the most of everything.

You’re spot on about FastPass+ reservations and who needs them. The "first party” to go through the line can have FastPass+ reservations, if they like. This will allow them to skip a lot of waiting time via the FP+ queue. The “second party” is the chaperone and two other buddies (so they don’t have to ride alone).  They will be assigned a return time to the FastPass+ queue. My son and husband often make Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP+ reservations, which allows me to wait with our daughter and then swap with my husband. My son rides again with me via the FP+ line, as my buddy. For your group, you’ll need to decide ahead of time who will be the “first party” and have them book FP+ in advance. Of course, there may come a time when an attraction has less than a 20 minute wait, where upon I will sign into My Disney Experience Mobile App and reassign our passes to another attraction. The standby line wouldn’t be that long of a wait at all, but we will still ask for Rider Switch Service as a family.

If I can help you make travel with your preschoolers easier, please let me know. I’ve got more magic up my sleeves than Dr. Faciler, and I’m a lot friendlier! ~ Lindsey P.
