I understand how the electronic reservation concept works but am struggling with a more basic questions about Fastpass.... how am I supposed to know in September which hour I will be riding which ride in November??

    Hi Kim,

I know it can be a little mind-boggling to think about the timing of your vacation in two months. With the old paper FastPass system, you wouldn't know what time you would be able to visit an attraction until you entered the park and made your way to the FastPass machines. Even then, some of the attractions ran out of FastPasses very early in the day.

After I've gotten used to it, I much prefer the new FastPass+ system. My family and I discuss which attractions are the most important for us to visit. We make a short list for each park before we make our FastPass+ selections. On the day we are able to make our selections, we either stay up late or get up early to make our selections. We take into account any dining reservations we have made and some time for an afternoon break. We then try to adjust our FastPass+ selections to fit our day.

My daughter pointed out I had FastPass+ selections for The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror right after our lunch reservation at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Probably not the best timing. I was able to open My Disney Experience on my phone and adjust our FastPass+ time.

If I were you, I would focus on which attractions you and your traveling party want to visit. After you know which attractions, you can build your day around the available FastPass+ times.

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let me know if I can help you further with your FastPass+ selections!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
