Two years ago, while visiting AK, my son was too short to ride Primeval Whirl with the rest of our group. The CM gave him a "future past travel certificate" Can this be used as a FP?

Hi Jennifer! This is a great question you are asking and one that many guests do not know about. The same thing happened to my grandson a couple of years ago so I have experienced this type of thing.

Many times a cast member will offer a child this special "pass" when they are disappointed that they are not tall enough to ride an attraction. Primeval-Whirl in the Animal Kingdom Park is one of the attractions that has a height limit. It has a limit of 48" so all guests must meet that height or above to be able to ride. Although the attraction looks simple it can be quite hard on ones stomach with all the twisting and turning....just a warning for those with weak tummies.

It sounds like your son is now tall enough to ride and as long as he has kept his special pass or certificate he can use it as a FastPass for this attraction. He needs to bring it and hand it to the cast member in the FastPass Lane. At that time not only will he be able to go on the ride but one adult will also be able to ride with him. You do not need to use one of your three FastPass selections for this as the certificate gives you a fourth for that day only.

Be patient if the cast member is a bit confused. They often use college program kids and if they have not experienced one of these passes they might need to get confirmation about how to proceed. Just ask them to get someone else to confirm. It is a magical gesture by Disney to keep kids from being too disappointed when they have their heart set on experiencing an attraction and cannot. My grandson received his pass for Rock n Roller Coaster and has been riding it ever since he was finally tall enough. Enjoy!
