I have two girls ages 5 and 7. We are going to Disney over spring break. A friend of mine said the best investment she made at Disney was to rent a stroller because you are on the go from morning until night. Would you agree or not? Thanks!

    Hi Hilary!

Thanks so much for sending me your question!  There’s no doubt that you’ll be doing a lot of walking during your Walt Disney World vacation.  Most families are on the go from morning until night, making strollers a lifesaver, even for older children who might not use them anywhere else.  I know I’ve always had a stroller on hand during my trips for my own sons until they were 6 or 7 years old.  I’ve tried every stroller rental option, including daily rentals in the parks, renting from a private company and taking our own from home.  Renting a stroller that you’ll have 24/7 is definitely my recommendation.  While the daily rentals in the parks are nice, you only have them from the time you enter until you leave that day.

The Stroller Rental page has great information on stroller rentals in the parks and from Disney Featured Providers.  Some great things about the strollers available for rent from private companies are that all are clean, comfortable for the kids (including for napping), easy to maneuver and they fold up quickly for the bus.  In fact, I loved the stroller I rented a couple years ago so much that I bought the same one after I got home.  Since then, I’ve taken that same stroller to Walt Disney World for my family’s vacations.  Take a look at that page to see which options and prices make the most sense for your family.  One final tip: if you do have a stroller during your vacation, take something to tie on to it to make it stand out in the sea of strollers.  I usually take a bright scarf and wrap it around the handle to make ours easily recognizable.

I hope that helps with your planning, Hilary, but I'd love to help answer any other questions you have as your spring break trip gets closer.  Have a magical day!
