My two children have multiple food allergies. It is very difficult for us to eat out and, when we do, we literally spend half our time reading binders of detailed ingredients. We have MUCH more fun when bring our own food. Will Disney World allow this?

    Hi JoAnne,

You are more than welcome to bring your own food and snacks into the Walt Disney World theme parks! You can even bring small coolers if you need to, as long as they are not bigger than 24x15x18 and don't have wheels.

If anyone asks (which they probably won't), just explain that your children need special food because of their allergies. It will not be a problem.

If you are staying on Disney property, all rooms are equipped with small refrigerators, so that should make it a little easier for you as well.

I think you will find Disney restaurants incredibly accommodating when it comes to allergies and dietary restrictions. Most of the servers will ask about allergies when you are seated in a table service restaurant. You are always welcome to ask to speak to the chef about your needs, even at many of the counter service locations.

At the new Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom, the touch-screen ordering system lets you mark your allergies and removes choices that don't fit your guidelines.

You can also consult the website about special dietary needs for other information and referrals.

I hope that eases your concerns. The last thing you want on your vacation is to have stress over your children's health and well-being. Please let me know if I can offer any other assistance. Enjoy your time with your family at Walt Disney World.
