Hello There! my twin girls and I are taking our first disney cruise in July for their 11th birhday, one of the girls is in a wheelchair. I am worried that my daughter in the wheelchair will not have as much fun. Is the ship wheelchair friendly?

A Disney cruise is a magical way to celebrate a birthday. And you'll have double the fun with your twin girls!

Most public areas aboard the ship are wheelchair accessible. Restaurants, shops and the kid clubs are all accessible. Theaters provide wheelchair seating.

The Youth Activities Counselors are well-trained for accommodating most special needs. Most of the activities can be enjoyed by all children, including disabled guests. It's important that in advance of your sailing that you contact DCL and let them know of your daughter's disability so they can anticipate your family's needs.

I have found that the Officers and crew aboard the Disney ships are exceptionally attentive to all the Jr. Cruisers. From our stateroom host to the restaurant servers to the youth counselors, I am always impressed with the kindness that they direct toward our son. This goes along way with parents as you well know!

Guest Services can assist with any questions or concerns during your cruise, including where your family can easily watch the Pirates in the Caribbean deck party.

At Castaway Cay, look for the sand wheelchairs.

I wish your daughters a magical birthday. I think they will both have a wonderful time.
