I am trying to plan a vacation for my family for 2010. We have never been to WDW and I have no idea where to start! It will be my husband and myself with our 4 children aging from 3-15 this year (4-16 when we are planning to go).

You've come to the right place for a great start!  Here is what I would do in your situation:

    1.  Figure out which time of year you want to visit. This decision should be based on factors like weather, crowds, discount room rates, and, of course, your family's schedule.  You might consider taking a look at this calendar published by Disney.  They offer some suggestion for great times to visit.

    2.  Next priority would be deciding upon a place to rest your head at night.  There are many benefits of staying in a Disney resort including: free round-trip airport transfers, extra magic hours, and the availability of the dining plan (more on this later).  Disney offers accommodations that range in both price and theming with something for every guest and just about every budget.

    3.  You'll want to consider where you'll eat on vacation too!  You may want to take advantage of a dining plan.  Disney offers several options for guests including a counter service dining plan all the way up to the deluxe plan.  Once you've decided that, remember to call for your table service dining reservations at 407-WDW-DINE.

    4.  After all of your basics are in order, come back here for more specific suggestions.  We can offer seasoned advice on every aspect of your vacation planning and we're happy to help!
