    Elisa from ID Asked

Hi, i am trying to plan a vacation for a family of 6 on a "budget" and i see vacation packages for family's of 4. Is it possible to use those for a family of 6 somehow?

    Hi Elisa,

I'm excited to hear that you're dreaming about a Disney adventure, and I'm so glad that you stopped by with your great question. I'd LOVE to help you turn those dreams into a reality!

While you'll often see sample Disney Resort Hotel Package prices for families of four, they're there to give you an idea of what the price could be. It's all subject to change based on the dates selected, number of theme park days purchased, etc. Unfortunately, because each Guest will need to be registered in your hotel room and have their own ticket, it's not possible for you guys as a family of six to purchase those exact packages. As a wife and mama of five Mouseketeers myself, I never fit that example mold either, but I've found that it's a good starting point to get an idea of some different price points.

Hakuna Matata...no worries, as I'm happy to help you find something that will work for your family! First, you'll find that there's a Disney Resort hotel for every budget, and I'd recommend looking into a Family Suite at either Disney's Art of Animation Resort or Disney's All-Star Music Resort or a Wilderness Cabin at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. You'll LOVE staying right in the middle of the magic, plus you'll receive lots of great perks like complimentary MagicBands, access to Extra Magic Hours and early FastPass+ bookings, and complimentary transportation. All of those options not only sleep six Guests, but also offer a kitchen or kitchenette so that you can save some money by preparing your own meals. Speaking of meals, did you know that Guests are able to bring their own food and drinks into the theme parks? By packing sandwiches or other simple meals, you could save some money that way, too. Also, I'd definitely encourage you to keep an eye on the Special Offers, Deals, and Discounts page. You'll often find discounts on Disney Resort hotel rooms or tickets. While prices are always subject to change, you'll currently find that by purchasing 3-day or longer tickets online prior to your arrival, you'll receive $20 off per ticket. With six members in your family, that discount really helps!

One of my favorite budget-friendly tips to share with large families is the refillable popcorn bucket, which my sweet friend Robyn shared all about. It's the perfect tasty and affordable snack for large families. Mmm...my mouth is watering right now just thinking about it!

I hope this at least helps you get started, Elisa, and please feel free to come back and again and ask us any other questions you may have. I hope that all your Disney dreams come true and you and your family have a truly magical vacation together!
