Hi! Trying to plan a trip for September 24-29 & trying to book dining reservations has been challenging! Even with waking at 6am & we’re still not finding what we want. Should we plan for high crowd levels with new Star Wars opening?

    Hi Claire!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I understand how frustrating it can be when you are trying to secure your favourite dining reservations when nothing seems to be available.  I recommend that you keep trying as cancellations occur all the time.  Check back every day, and try to be as flexible as possible with your timings, or even with your choice of days.  You can filter your dining preferences online, and by selecting dates and locations you will see a complete list of everything available at that time. You might find more availability at the Disney Resort hotels, or Disney Springs, rather than at the theme parks.

There has been a huge amount of excitement around Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, with an opening date of 29th August at Walt Disney World.  Whenever something spectacular opens at Walt Disney World  (remember Pandora - The World of Avatar, and Toy Story Land?) everyone wants to experience it and Disney's Hollywood Studios will likely be much busier than usual.  If you are heading to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, please note that it will be available during Extra Magic Hours, and capacity will be limited. I recommend using Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, making your FastPass+ reservations at those parks (60 days in advance for Disney Resort hotel guests). I am also visiting in September, and am looking forward to spending time at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon and Disney's Blizzard Beach, and enjoying some relaxation time at Disney Springs. With careful forward planning, your magical vacation awaits you!

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions.  We will be happy to help you. ~ Sue
