Hi! We are trying to plan a graduation trip in May 2019, but will have 5 adults with us, instead of our normal 4. My dad is retired Navy, so we are wondering if the Shades of Green will be our best value? Or is there another option you'd recommend?

    Hi Dina!

First, let me say a big 'Thank You' to your Dad for his service in the Navy, and for yours as a Blue Star Child! My husband is in the Air Force, and whenever I think things are hard I like to remember those who came before me whose service members didn't have wifi or social media to keep up with the home-front during the tough times. And how exciting that you'll be celebrating a graduation next yEAR! Check out these super chEARful Specialty Cakes that can be added to most Dining Reservations.

Shades of Green does have big guest rooms, really great amenities, and I love that the Exchange store is also tax-free. But for me there is just something about a Disney Resort Hotel; I think it has to do with all of the included perks, like the complimentary airport transportation, Disney's Magical Express. I also love that I can send any non-food souvinEARs I purchase back to my Disney Resort Hotel for next-day pickup instead of having to worry about forgetting them somewhere. And MagicBands are that much more enchanted for guests of a Disney Resort Hotel, as they can be used to charge purchases back to the credit card on file with your room.

Call the Walt Disney World Reservation Line to ask about Military Room-Only Rates, which can be a savings of 25 to 50 percent depending on the Resort Hotel. (Their phone number is 407-939-1936.) For your group, I'd recommend The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness, will sleep six, and also feature a kitchenette. Both Disney's Art of Animation and Disney's All-Star Music have Family Suites which sleep six and have two bathrooms. Also the Alligator Bayou section of Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside can sleep five, but it might be a bit tight if your group is all adults.

Congratulations again, Dina, and We'll See You in 2019!
