Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

Hi, I am trying to plan a first time vacation to Disney World in Feb, any tips for fist timers?? My children are 6 and 8. Thanks!

    Hi Tracy,

    Hooray for first timers!

My most important tip is to stick to your children's schedule and do not see everything on this trip! Once they know about the trip, ask them to pick three things they must see at each park and then do those things. The rest becomes pixie dust on a great trip!

You want to make Advance Dining Reservations so you have place to sit and eat without searching for a table. Pick restaurants your children would enjoy and try new experiences. A buffet, such as Boma - Flavor of Africa or 1900 Park Fare, is a great way to try new foods with old favorites. Also, do not be afraid to try a signature restaurant as it is a great way to have children learn about fine dining in a friendly setting.

For resorts, look at ones closer to where you will predominantly be spending your time. It may be worth being on a monorail resort if you are only going to be at Magic Kingdom. However, February, except for President's Day Week, should be quiet. The mansions of Magnolia Bend at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort and Disney's Pop Century are two favorite resorts.

For tickets, skip the Park Hopper and focus on one park a day. This will allow you to see shows and find hidden magic without feeling rushed. You also want to book your FastPass+ passes as soon as possible to reduce your wait times.

    Have a magical vacation!
