Hi, we are trying to plan a family vacation for Aug. of 2008 with my 2 year old daughter. Disney is a thought we have had, but what is your opinion on this with such a young daughter. Where would you reccommend we stay? Thank you.

My oldest daughter was just shy of two on her first trip to Disney, and it was a wonderful age to visit.  The magic is all very real at that age, and I will forever remember the excitement my daughter felt when meeting the real Cinderella, seeing Mickey himself, and encountering the talking trashcan for the very first time.  At that age everything is so delightful for hem, and delightful for you to watch.

Disney is really unlike any other theme park out there, and it's incredibly child friendly.  You won't find a 'kiddie land' here - the whole park is kiddie land.  There are very few rides that your daughter will not be able to go on (unlike other parks, where there's very little they CAN do).  And even when she can't ride, Disney makes that an easy process for you, using the baby swap pass to avoid waiting, so the adults can still ride without making your daughter miserable in the process.

The only possible drawback I can see to your plan is the short notice.  WIth just a few days or weeks to plan, you may have a hard time getting a reservation for dining.  Of course you can always eat counter service (fast food) meals and then it's a non-issue, but I'd recommend a character meal if you can.  They are a nice, no-waiting and no pressure way for your daughter to get some one-on-one time with her Disney favorites.

As for where to stay, that really depends on your budget.  All of he Disney resorts are great and have something unique and special to offer, so you won't be disappointed.  I would choose Pop Century for a value, Port Orleans-Riverside for a moderate, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a deluxe.

    Go for it!
