Trying to plan a disney vacation with 2 adults and 4 children ages 13, 12, 7, 6. Where is the best place to stay and the best parks to go to for the different ages. Trying not to spend a fortune

    Hi Melanie!

The best place if budget is no issue is a Disney Deluxe Villa.  A two bedroom villa would be perfect for your party.  In my opinion, the best ones are at Bay Lake Tower, the Wilderness Lodge, and the Beach Club.  However, they may not be in your budget.

Another option is to get two connecting rooms in a Deluxe, Moderate, or Value Resort.  I would recommend this approach as it is generally less expensive than a two bedroom villa.  A good economical value is to stay at a Disney Moderate Resort.  Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Moderate resort; in fact, it was recently selected as the best Moderate Resort in an unofficial poll of the Moms Panel.

All of the theme parks are great for children of those ages.  I recommend visiting the Magic Kingdom, at least the Future World portion of Epcot (some children are easily bored in the World Showcase portion), Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom.  If you don't have four days to allow you to spend one in each park, then I recommend dropping either Epcot or Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Good luck and write back with more questions!
