I am trying to plan a cruise for Sept 2015.I want t to do a Bahamas cruise. Do I need a passport for myself and daughter. Also it will be just the two of us and I am a little apprehensive. She will be three at the time.

    Ahoy, Patricia!

I'm happy to hear you're planning a cruise for you and your daughter - what wonderful memories you'll make when you sail with Disney Cruise Line! My youngest daughter had just turned two the first time we cruised, and it was absolutely magical. She loved every minute!

At this time, U.S. Citizens departing from and returning to the same U.S. port are able to use a Photo I.D. and certified birth certificate to board the ship and re-enter the country. That being said, passport regulations are always changing, and Disney Cruise Line "strongly recommends" that all Guests have a valid U.S. Passport. In the unfortunate event you should encounter an emergency (emergency stop in a foreign country, medical emergency, etc.), passports would be required for air travel. So, while you don't have to have passports for your particular itinerary, but you may want to get them just for that extra peace of mind. To keep up-to-date on the most current passport regulations, visit www.travel.state.gov.

As for apprehension about cruising with your little one, rest assured that Disney Cruise Line does everything possible to make sure every guest feels safe, comfortable, and entertained while onboard. There are so many activities available for you and your princess - you'll be amazed at all there is to see and do. If she's potty-trained by the time you sail, she'll have access to the amazing Youth Clubs on the ship - the Oceaneer Club and Lab. Staffed by highly trained Youth Counselors, this safe, fun environment is a great place for her to spend some time with other little cruisers her age. They'll play games, make crafts, even have visits from Disney Characters! While she enjoys the club, you can visit the spa or spend some time at the Quiet Cove pool, for adults only.

I hope this helps ease your mind and answer your question! Have a magical day! - Diane W.
