I am trying to order a custom cake for Akershus but was told the only choices are chocolate or white. Do you know if you can order a specialty cake from one of the bakery's to be delivered to Akershus?

    Hi there, Jessica!

The Cake Ordering Hotline for Epcot may be reached at (407) 827 2253. Give them a call with at least 48 hours' notice and they should be able to help you out.

While you can certainly get a standard "podium cake" (a chocolate or vanilla six-inch cake) at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Epcot, there are a few other possibilities to make your celebration stand out, some of which can be done through the Cake Line.

    1. Find out if Akershus offers the Mickey-shaped cake (serves 12). The treat comes in white cake or chocolate cake, both with chocolate filling, and is enrobed in chocolate ganache. Because of the design of the cake, you'll be able to request a message written on the serving plate -- not on Mickey Mouse. Right now, the cake is running $48, with prices subject to change without notice.

    2. Check into the possibility of a more upscale cake, generally available through the Cake Line. These cakes are 8" (serves 8) or 10" (serves 16). The larger the cake, the more flavor options are available.

    3. The Bakery at the BoardWalk Inn will provide a fancy fondant cake for you to take with you to the restaurant. This is the only option that will allow you to pick up the cake and transport it directly to Akershus.

    4. The bakery at the Yacht and Beach Clubs will be able to deliver to many of the restaurants at Epcot. They can be reached at (407) 934 3105.

Have a delicious - and magical!- celebration!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
