We are trying to figure out our FP+ selections for our upcoming trip in Dec. We are going to Epcot on their EMH day. Would it be more beneficial to get a FP+ for Soarin' or for the Test Track? The one we don't get a FP for, we will ride during the EMH.

    Hi, Amanda!

I'm not sure exactly which day you are referring to, but if the Extra Magic Hours are in the morning at Epcot this is a fantastic idea - in fact this is exactly how I plan my family's FastPass+ selections at Epcot. If the Extra Magic Hours are in the evening, you still may experience quite a long wait on the ride you choose not to make a FastPass+ selection for. If for some reason your plan does not unfold as you would like you still have some flexibility, depending on availability, by using your My Disney Experience smartphone app or by visiting a FastPass+ Kiosk within the Theme Park. For example, one morning it was raining and Test Track was closed. Luckily, I was able to use the My Disney Experience app to change our Soarin' FastPass+ to a Test Track FastPass+ for later in the day and we hopped right over to Soarin' and walked right on. During our FastPass+ time for Test Track the skies were blue and we had the green light to ride! Honestly, if you arrive early (before rope drop so you are one of the first in the Theme Park) you can't go wrong selecting either as your Tier 1 FastPass+ selection and riding the other the very first thing in the morning.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation, Amanda!

Hi, I’m Rachel! I am a “boy mom” to two rowdy little men at home and married to my high school sweetheart. I am fortunate enough that my prince charming loves all things Disney just as much as I do! For me, planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be just as magical as being there. It brings our family together as we dream, plan, and count down the days. I would be honored to help plan your visit and share in your family’s very own magic! Learn More About Rachel
