we're trying to do disney on a budget and are only staying for 2 days. can you recommend which would be better of the moderate priced resorts as far as things to do and proximity to the park?

    Claudia:

A good way to stay on a budget is to use the most of your resort.  And choosing your resort may depend on what time of year you are visiting.

Caribbean Beach Resort sports a large, well-themed pool and water-play area that appeals to the younger set.  Its beaches add to the setting and make it a wonderful destination in warm weather.  You can have as much fun at the resort as you would the parks!

Port Orleans offers a boat to Downtown Disney, an attraction in itself, and gives you access to a part of Disney that needs no ticket!  Keep in mind, though, that if you're looking to stay on a budget, you may need to have your wits about you as you walk along the shops!  In my opinion this Moderate resort offers the most for your money, whether you choose the French Quarter or the Riverside.  Regardless of the time of year, it is a hit in my book.

None of the Moderate resorts offer monorail or boat transportation to the parks, only buses, so proximity to the parks doesn't factor in the equation in my opinion.  However, French Quarter has the leg up in the transportation category as only one bus stop serves the resort rather than several.   This, added to its boat to Downtown Disney would probably be my recommendation for you.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
