We are trying to decide the best time to visit Disney... I will either be 7 months pregnant or traveling with an infant (5 months). How much will pregnancy limit my access to rides? My kids are 6, 5, and 2. Thanks bunches!

Hi, Catherine!  Congratulations on your baby to be!  Even with three other children, a new baby is an exciting time!

There really are only a few things that you won't be able to do while pregnant, and most of them are the common sense things that you would expect not to be able to do.  The Mountains (Space, Splash, and Big Thunder) are all on the list of things a pregnant woman shouldn't do, as are Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  There are a couple of others, but really not very many.

One that surprises a lot of pregnant women I talk to is the Kilimanjaro Safari Ride at Animal Kingdom.  The ride itself is a wonderful trip through the African savannah, but the jeep can really cause you to bump around.  I know a few women who have ridden anyway, but once they've been on, they understand why there are restrictions in place.

I have always managed to have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World pregnant, but if you're worried about missing out on things, take your new baby and have a grand time.  Using the child swap option will allow both you and the other grown up in your party to go on everything and only stand in line once.

Have a great time whenever you decide to go!
