We are trying to decide on the best character dining for our kids 4 & 8 year old girls. The the older one is no longer excited about princesses, but the little one loves them. Is there a meal that has both?

    Hi Katsura -

In a situation like yours, the character meal I'd recommend is dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian. (Make sure you get dinner because breakfast is different.)

The characters at 1900 Park dinner are Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Cinderella's step family: Lady Tremaine, Anastasia, and Drizella. The royalty lovers in your group can have lovely moments with Cinderella and the Prince. They are graceful, refined, and regal.

The been-there-done-that child can have a great time with the "steps." Cindy's step family is very humorous and makes a big show about being annoyed with Cinderella. I dined at 1900 Park about ten days ago. I was there with family friends with two boys. Lady Tremaine kept asking the boys if they thought Anastasia and Drizella were prettier than Cindy. She also looked at my daughters' feet to make sure they wouldn't be fitting into any slippers.

This is a very nice balance of reverence for the princesses, but also poking some good-natured fun at the genre.

If you go, be sure to save room for dessert. They bring out a gigantic ice cream sundae to every table.

    Enjoy!
