We are trying to choose between pop century and caribbean beach resort. We have 2 girls ages 4 and 8. I have concerns about having to take a shuttle to get to the pool at cbr and too much walking at the end of a long day. Which hotel would be best?

    Hi Julie,
I have stayed at both of these hotels and enjoyed them both.  The Caribbean Beach Resort is divided into six 'islands' (resort buildings themed to a certain Caribbean island).  Each 'island' has their own pool, so there is no need to take the shuttle (which comes quite regularly), unless you would like to swim in the pool at 'Old Port Royal Centertown'.  Each 'island' has their own shuttle stop, so you never have to walk very far to get to your room.

For dining at the Caribbean Beach Resort, however, you will have to go to the food court or restaurant at Old Port Royal Centertown as this is the only place with food services.   Some of the rooms in 'Martinique' and 'Trinidad North' are fairly close (perhaps a 5 minute walk) to Centertown and you would not need to take the shuttle.  When you book your room you can inquire about the rooms closer to Centertown - they will be 'preferred location' rooms and a slightly higher price.

At the Pop Century Resort there is one transportation stop and food court area - both at 'Classic Hall' at the center of the resort.  Again, to cut down on walking distances, you can inquire about preferred room locations when you book.

I believe that the amount of walking will be about the same at each resort.  The main difference will be that at the Caribbean Beach Resort you may be spending more time taking the shuttle if your room is not at one of the 'islands' directly beside Old Port Royal Centertown.  Both resorts are fantastic for children the age of yours - have a wonderful vacation!
