We try not to eat out or make other people work on Sunday. What are some ideas that can help us minimize making people work on Sunday during our trip? What are some meal options we can make in our hotel room? We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside.

Hi Mark! I truly appreciate your consideration of others when planning a vacation that will carry over on a Sunday. In the service industry it is not common to find anyone who might even care.

Because Walt Disney World is a recreational service industry that thrives on weekends and holidays you will find many cast members happily working on each and every day. They choose to work at this vacation destination because they have a passion in making each day magical for the guests.

Your resort room at Port Orleans Riverside will not be equipped with a kitchen making it hard to prepare foods for your family on this day without heading to some sort of dining spot at Disney. You can pick up some non perishable items in the resort store to make sandwiches etc. There is a small refrigerator but they don't cool well so be careful when shopping for things that might need refrigeration. The only other option I can think of is possibly ordering something the day before and keeping it in the refrigerator for that short amount of time. Most food courts have a microwave if something needs to be reheated.  There is pizza delivery from 4pm-midnight but that would have to include someone cooking it and delivering it to you.

If you wanted to consider changing a resort reservation you could book the Fort Wilderness Cabins which come complete with a full kitchen or one of the many DVC villas that will also have a kitchen for you to prepare meals for your family. I wish I could think of more options but the resorts have limited ability for guests to prepare foods in their rooms for safety reasons.
