Is it true that you have to get to Magic Kingdom at opening time on December 31st if you want to be able to get in the park at all that day? We want to see the midnight fireworks, but that makes for a long day for my kids if we have to get there at 9 a.m.

Hello, Carren!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

December 31st is a very popular day for Walt Disney World guests.  Many people want to bring in the New Year at the Magic Kingdom.  I cannot think of a better way to bring in 2011.  The park will fill to capacity very quickly, so I would highly recommend being there first thing in the morning.  I truly understand your concern and having the kids up all day and night will be hard on them.  I am not sure of there ages, but if they are able to nap in a stroller, I would try to find a quiet and not so crowded spot to give them time to rest.  My boys, whom range in the ages between 15-9, can easily doze off on a park bench.  If you really want to view the fireworks, you will need to make your way VERY early.

    ~Have a MAGICAL day!~
