Fireworks at Magic Kingdom

I have a trip planned for May 1, 2020 and am wondering (hoping) that the walkway between the Grand Floridian and the Magic Kingdom will be complete and ready for use. Do you know when the path is expected to be completed? Thank you!

    Hello, Miriam,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  When my family and I are discussing which Disney Resort we like best, Disney's Contemporary Resort is always mentioned because we really like that we can walk from the resort to the Magic Kingdom.  It is a great option to not have to wait for transportation and instead take a short walk, especially at the end of the day at the park when many other guests are leaving.
Adding a similar walkway from the Magic Kingdom to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will be equally wonderful and add another great perk to staying at Disney's flagship resort.

When I last visited Walt Disney World, it was easy to see how much progress had been made on this walkway.  I'm really looking forward to when it opens, too, as the path looks like it will be so lovely and convenient.  However, no official opening date has been shared yet. To follow news and updates about its completion, I'd encourage you to check the Disney Parks Blog for news and updates.

Wishing you a magical trip!  Please let us know if we can help with any further questions. -Kara
