    Nancy Asked

a trip with a 3 old ,concerns: weather n crowds. I am undecided whether its is better to vist early dec, or anytime jan or feb .3 year olds arent good at queing n I m afraid it wud b too cold to que. whats the best time to balance weather n queues

Hi Nancy! I think every guest hopes to have that perfect Disney vacation with great weather and no crowds. Unfortunately, that is a rarity as Florida weather is completely unpredictable and crowds are almost impossible to predict now days.

December used to be a "down" time in the parks but you can't say that anymore. It isn't horrible on any given day but you will find crowds and some lines. You would need to avoid the Magic Kingdom on holiday parade taping in early December but other then that it is a good time. I love it as you certainly will be kept in the holiday spirit with everything that is going on and with all the wonderful decorations up in the parks and resorts. Your three year old would probably love Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party too which is held on certain dates from mid November to mid December.

January is fine but it can be the coldest month at Disney. Avoid the Disney marathon weekend as that draws thousands to the property. It can also be a challenge to get around on race days. Also try to avoid Martin Luther King weekend.

February is still a good month for the most part with crowds but the weather can remain chilly.  In this month you definitely want to avoid the Presidents Weekend and week as that is a busy time.

My first choice would be early December but I happen to love the holidays and all that festive spirit throughout Disney World. My second choice would be February.

I also want to touch on the queues. Disney has realized standing in line for periods of time is hard on the little ones. They have made many now with interactive things to see and do while they wait.
