Going on 1st trip with kids (DD8, DD5) to WDW end April. Staying at Wild Lodge bunk room. 2 Ques: 1) Is courtyard view worth the xtra $20 per nt? 2) If girls go to bed at 8:30pm, and we need quiet after that, where should we request a room?

    Hi Lisa!

Congratulations on booking a trip to Walt Disney World and for making your reservation at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  This is my favourite resort and I have stayed there many times.

My family and I always choose to pay extra to stay in a courtyard view room. There is so much more to see - views of the pool, Bay Lake, and possibly (depending on which room you have) you might catch a glimpse of the Electrical Water Pageant at around 9.35 each night.  The gardens of the Wilderness Lodge are stunning and it is always a pleasure to sit on the balcony and just watch the world go by.  The woods view rooms basically have relaxing views of trees.

Regarding noise level, we like a higher level room (floor 4 or 5), and once the balcony doors are closed, I have always found these rooms to be very quiet.  I would avoid a courtyard view room on the first floor, which have a terrace and are next to the pool.  I  would also avoid a room overlooking the lobby, as the dinner antics in the Whispering Canyon Cafe can be noisy, but I have spoken to someone who stayed in one of these rooms and they said as soon as their door was closed the noise was minimal.

Have a magical stay at Disney's Wilderness Lodge!
