Trip in Jan. and will be there for 6 days w/ husband and 2 girls 4&2. Our first day at Disney World is youngest 2nd birthday, other family will join us that day too (4 kids: 5,7,9,10). I'd like ideas to celebrate and have cake too.

Hi Suzann! Celebrating a birthday is very special when you can do it in Walt Disney World. I am sure this will be a second birthday to remember.

Since this is your first day of your vacation and will assume that everyone is arriving from different locations you might consider doing a welcome/birthday dinner at one of the many resorts or Disney Springs restaurants. It is a relaxing way to start versus heading to a park where it is a bit more crazy with crowds.

Take a look at the many Dining Options and see if you can find something that the entire family can enjoy. There are some wonderful character dining options and one of my favorites is Chef Mickey's which is located in the Contemporary Resort. The fabulous five Disney characters: Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto, are there to greet the guests during a great dinner. They will obviously make a big deal for the birthday girl too.

Being a princess she might enjoy her special day in the castle for a princess dinner. Cinderella's Royal Table is a popular choice but it is also located in the Magic Kingdom so you would need to use park tickets. Whatever you decide a birthday dinner is a must.

Check out all the different possibilities for making a Birthday special. This of course will include a special cake which you can order in advance and have delivered to a restaurant or your resort. You can also contact Disney Floral and Gifts and have them decorate the room for you while you are at dinner and they will customize it all to your needs and budget.

    Happy Birthday!
