    Trip for 8/20-27/14 with hubby & sons, 14&9. I know it is early but trying to have a plan before ADR opens in Feb. Planning on 5-6 day PH with WP&M option. Too much to do in 1 week? Without park hours can you suggest a tentative itinerary?

    Kim,

    I would not necessarily map out the "what park, what day" items yet. Certainly not until I had an idea of what parks had Extra Magic Hours on what days. But I like to plan out individual days. Then I assemble these into a plan when the park hours are published.

    For your family, I would assume you are going to do no parks on arrival or departure day, and then 6 park days from the 21st through the 26th. So next I would plan days this way;

    August 20: Arrival Day
    When do you arrive, and what do you want to do? I would suggest a fun dinner that kicks off the vacation. I am thinking Hoop Dee Doo Review, Whispering Canyon Cafe, or maybe 'Ohana. Another way to go is to have a dinner at Downtown Disney, paired with some shopping. If you get here early you could also make this a water park day!

    August 27: Departure Day
    If you have time before leaving, you might want a fun breakfast at a resort hotel. Chef Mickey or 'Ohana with Mickey and Friends could be good.

    Park Days
    With 6 days, I would plan 2 Magic Kingdom days, 1 Hollywood Studios day, 1 Epcot day, 1 Water Park + Hollywood Studios day, and 1 Animal Kingdom + Water Park day. For each day plan the meals you want, especially if you are wanting a table service meal to be part of your day.

    So this is your first step. Get what you are going to do day-by-day in order. Then, when you get park hours, put them together like puzzle pieces. I like to have the Magic Kingdom day first. And I like to spread water park days out a bit. But the plan should work itself out as you go along.

    Write me back if you want to plan some of these individual days, including good dining ideas, whether they be table or quick service.

    Have a magical vacation!
