Our trip is early Feb 2019. I see the EMH are posted but don't match up the the best with our dining reservations. How often to the EMH change? Trying to figure out if I should chance the EMH changing or give up my 8am BOG to have EMH.

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Changing Extra Magic Hours can wreak havoc on the best-made plans!

Although Extra Magic Hours can change, my family has only experienced the addition of Extra Magic Hours, not the elimination of them. A few months before our trip this August, I noticed that early morning Extra Magic Hours had been added at Disney's Hollywood Studios as Toy Story Land opened. We had a pre-park opening breakfast reservation at Hollywood & Vine but I decided to cancel it when early morning Extra Magic Hours were added, in part because one of our reasons for doing pre-park opening dining reservations is to get into the park before the crowds descend.

Rather than chance it, I suggest that you make other plans. Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom is one of our favorite restaurants to do with a pre-park opening dining reservation. Consider changing your park days if you can get that 8:00 a.m. dining reservation on a day that does not have early morning Extra Magic Hours. For example, I just checked the park hours for February, found a day that has Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and then I checked dining reservations for Be Our Guest Restaurant for the day afterwards. There was a dining reservation for 8:15 a.m. When I have faced this dilemma, I have changed park plans and dining reservations if we have not made Fast Pass+ selections. Once we have made Fast Pass+ selections, it is much harder to change plans!

Jennifer, when we had those Extra Magic Hours change on us at Disney's Hollywood Studios, I actually then made a pre-park opening dining reservation at Disney's Animal Kingdom so that we could still experience the magic of an almost empty park on our way to the restaurant!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
