My trip to Disney World Florida is next week! I will be traveling with a 2 year old and 9 year old. Do we need to bring any identification for my children? Ex: birth certs, ss cards, etc?? In case the children get separated from us OR to prove their age?

    Hi Kristen ~

Your trip is literally around the corner and I bet you are too excited to sleep already!

You will not need to bring any type of identification for your kids. I've been traveling to Walt Disney World with my boys since they were born and have never needed any documentation for them.

There are some things you can do in case they get separated from you (it likely will not happen but just in case):

    * Take a picture of them every morning with your cell phone. That way you will remember what they are wearing and can show it to others that are helping you locate them.
    * Put some form of ID on them with their name and your cell number on it. I had "dog tags" made when mine were little and put them on their shoes. You could also take one of those rubber wristbands everyone is wearing these days and write their name and your cell number on it. Your 9 year old will have a MagicBand and their name should be on the inside. You could add your cell number with a silver or gold Sharpie.
    * Tell your kids that if they should become separated from you, to stay in that area and look for a Cast Member wearing one of the white name tags. Once you reach the Walt Disney World Resort, show your kids what their name tags look like so they are not confused with all of the buttons and pins that many Guests wear.
    * If you become separated, take a deep breath and remember to think like your child. What would catch their eye and where would they go?
    * If there is more than one adult in your travel party, one person should remain in the area you last saw your child while the others are looking. That way someone is there in case your child returns.

Please feel free to visit us with any other last minute questions. We will be hEAR for you until you hit the pixie dusted trail!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
